Historically, a “patch knife” was a small sharp knife, often worn on an a neck lanyard, used to cut the cloth “patches” to wrap the bullet when loading a muzzle loading rifle. They were also handy for other little tasks from trimming toe nails to cutting a “chew” from a plug of tobacco.
Buckskin Jim’s Montana Patch Knife has a 2 1/2 inch razor sharp blade and a deerskin-wrapped handle. The handcrafted sheath of buffalo hide and deerskin secures the knife in right- or left-hand position. Use with the belt loop or optional deerskin neck lanyard.
